July 2008

Dear Members,

We are starting a new year with our new officers and are looking forward to having a successful one.

It would be great to see more members getting involved and attending meetings.

August 14th will be our Christmas in August Party. Bring a $25 wrapped present for the grab bag and a covered dish. We start at 7pm and this is always a fun time.

Remember July 26 is the Post Annual Clam Bake. Your help and support would be greatly appreciated.

Hope to see you there!

For God and Country,
Louanne Yendrey
President

Auxiliary President’s Message

Dear Members,

Happy New Years!

Auxiliary meetings have been moved to the rec. center, behind
the Police station on Bay Ave, beginning 1-10-08 thru May 2008
at 7:00pm due to meeting room construction.

Please attend these important meetings to establish the plans
fore the new year. Steering committee will be assigned to solicit
new officers.

Get involved. We need new ideas for fund raiser. Your input is
vital to the survival of the unit. Don’t let us down.

Looking forward to seeing a good attendance. Remember, no
assist will result in a dormant unit.

For God & Country
Fran Carney

Dear Members,

Our goal this year is to recruit new members into our organization. In these times of war overseas wouldn't you feel fulfilled to know that we, as an Auxiliary of the American Legion, support and aide our heroes? Come join us and be a part of America.

Please note our meeting times have changed to 7:00 p.m. not 7:30 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month.

The Auxiliary selected three girls from Barnegat High School to attend Girls State at Georgian Court University. I am pleased to announce that Stephanie Municchi was chosen for Senator. Stephanie will be going to Washing D.C sometime in July for Girls Nation. For the last two years we had the privilege of having two of our girls picked for Governors and now this year Senator. This is a great honor for Unit 232.

Our biggest fund raiser is in progress. The $25.00 50/50 raffle is to be held on Sunday, September 9th. Get your ticket now and you may have a good chance for the lucky number. The proceeds will benefit scholarships, Boys and Girls State programs, and D.A.R.E. Contact Dyana Williams for a ticket or further information.

This year we are doing something different, instead of having our Christmas in July, we will have Christmas in August which will be held on Thursday, August 9th in lieu of our regular meeting. Bring a $25-wrapped gift and a covered dish. I can guarantee you that you will have lots of laughs! All members are invited.

Hope to see you at our next meeting on Thursday, July 12th. , and I wish all our members and their families a safe and enjoyable summer!

For God and Country
Fran Carney
