I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather. We’ve just returned from the American Legion Convention in Wildwood where we had a great time and enjoyed the camaraderie of other Posts.

While sitting at the actual state convention, it made me realize that as important as our Post is to us, we are merely the front line of troops of a great organization. I would love for more members to attend this even so that you could share the Great Pride that I felt belonging to the American Legion.

As front line troops, I am calling on all members to start getting more involved in POST activities. We always try to plan great events and help is always needed. Remember, these events and fundraisers are very important to sustain our POST and our service to the community.

As I start my second term as your Commander, there are so many people that I would love to thank…I won’t even attempt to list them here. But you know who you are and I thank you for your support and help.

I am beginning my second term as I began my first – with nothing but the betterment of John Wesley Taylor Post 232 … foremost on my agenda.

For God and Country,
Andy Pignatelli
Commander

Commander’s Message

I hope that everyone enjoyed a happy holiday season, and is
looking forward to a healthy and prosperous new year.

We had a great turnout on Veterans day, and Pearl Harbor day.
It was well attended by Post Members and the public.

We had a great Halloween Party and the S.A.L. did a great job
putting out a holiday buffet for Christmas.

As far as Post business is concerned I’m happy to report that
our finances are very healthy and our membership is close to
being over the top! Keep up the good work Tom Covello. We
bought a new 50” plasma TV for the canteen and we’re in the
process of buying a new computer.

Nominations for Post Officers will begin in January. If you feel
that you can make a contribution or are dissatisfied with the direction
the Post is going, now is the time to step up!

As I’m sure most of you know we are going ahead with the
Post expansion. I am hoping that all 3 organizations embrace
this project, as I believe that this is an important step for our
post.

For God and Country
Andy Pignatellli, Commander

June 2007

To All Post 232 Members,

At this time, I would like to thank everyone for giving me the privilege of leading Post 232 for the next year. I would like to congratulate and thank all the newly elected Post Officers.

Congratulations Auxiliary President Fran Carney, Son's of The American Legion Commander Jack Zapf and their officers. If our three organizations work closely together, we should have a very productive year. I would also like to congratulate Ocean County Auxiliary President, Dyana Williams.

Our annual Clam Bake is July 21st. This year the kids under 12 are FREE! We will have plenty of games, a petting zoo, and pony rides. For more information, please call the Post.

We will have a general Post clean up on July 7th. We need all the help we can get. If anyone is interested in helping, please meet at the Posy at 9:00 a.m.

We are planning an "End of Summer Blast" on Saturday, August 25th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Hi-Fives will be there to entertain us and plenty of dancing.

Come out and enjoy the Post canteen. We now have a Juke Box and a Shuffle board game. In the future we will be offering food, and possible a Happy Hour and other drink specials. Have a good, and safe time. We can guarantee you a ride home.

Remember, to ensure a successful Post, we need all the help and support that you can provide.
In closing I would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy summer.

For God and Country
Andy Pignatelli (Commander)
